The Dragonflies Curriculum

An online program developed by Rabata which focuses on spiritual development for youth, covering belief, character development, and value systems. The class is taught by one of Rabata’s certified instructors in a welcoming, fun, and engaging environment.



Students will learn about: 


  • The spiritual heart, this life, and the hereafter

  • Right and wrong actions

  • Doing good deeds and cultivating a deep connection to Allah (swt)

  • Reflecting upon the Quran and Sunnah

  • Prophetic virtues that help us grow in our connection to Allah (swt), our communities, and the people around us

  • Notables figures in Islamic history, from prophets to companions to modern day Muslims

  • Performing acts of worship with confidence and love

Please note: 

1. This class is designed for girls who are currently 9 years old. 

2. Enrollment into the Dragonflies program is on a per-student basis. If two (or more) students are planning to attend a class together by sharing a screen, each student will need to enroll for class individually. 

3. For the privacy and protection of all our students, classes are NOT recorded. Students must attend live sessions. 

4. Program Policy: Once the session begins, NO refunds are allowed.

Instructor

Anse Walia Wahid is a dedicated educator, originally from Zambia with Bangladeshi-Canadian roots. She currently resides in California with her husband and two daughters, bringing a rich multicultural perspective to her work. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting from Canada. In 2014, she began her Islamic studies journey under the guidance of Anse Dr. Tamara Gray at the Ribaat Academic Institute. In 2022, she graduated as part of the institute’s second cohort to receive the Ribaat Teacher Certificate. At Ribaat, Anse Walia serves as the Admin Coordinator, supports instructors as a Teaching Assistant, and guides potential graduates in her role as an advisor. She also teaches in Rabata’s Dragonflies program. In addition to her formal roles, Anse Walia has been deeply involved in her local community, volunteering with a range of organizations. Her work is shaped by a deep commitment to education, service, and spiritual growth—values she strives to embody, share, and inspire in those around her, helping them feel excited and empowered by their faith.
