Class Curriculum

This 8-week class is focused on spiritual development for 9-10 year olds. Developed by Rabata, the unique program focuses on belief, character development, and value systems by learning about the spiritual heart, this life and the hereafter, doing good deeds, and dhikr. This program also reflects upon the Qur’an and Sunnah, focuses on Ibadah (worship), Ihsan (to obtain excellence in worship), hikma (wisdom), and learning about right and wrong actions. The content is delivered in a fun and engaging online environment taught by diverse certified Ribaat Instructors. Some of the topics that are covered in this class are:

  • What is the spiritual heart?

  • Recognize the difference between the ways animals worship God and the ways people do.

  • How do we 'feed' our spiritual hearts?

  • How do you cope with loss? What are beautiful things about this world? Does visiting these beautiful things help with sad feelings?

  • What are the two worlds?

  • How can we be near to God in this world and enter Heaven in the next?

  • How long does our spiritual heart last?

  • Speak about love for Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

  • What is a Prophet? Who was Muhammadﷺ?

Please note: 

1. This class is designed for children born between the dates of: 

9-year olds: January 1, 2013 - December 31, 2013

10-year olds: January 1, 2012 - December 31, 2012

2. For the privacy and protection of all our students, classes are NOT recorded. Students must attend live sessions. 

3. Program Policy: Once the session begins, NO refunds are allowed.

Tayyaba Syed is an accomplished author of multiple award-winning children's picture books and has written over 20 book titles for Muslim kids. She is also a journalist with bylines in numerous publications, serves on the Rabata Board of Directors, teaches writing, leads a local women's halaqa, and is a public speaker who has conducted over 100 literary and faith-based presentations. Anse Tayyaba has completed the Ribaat Teacher Certification and holds an ijāza in the 40 hadith of Imām Nawawi. She lives in Illinois with her family, where she is an elected member of the local school district's Board of Education.
