Class Description

This 8-week class is focused on spiritual development for 6 year olds. Developed by Rabata, this unique program focuses on belief, character development, and value systems by learning about forgiveness, mercy, compassion, and the Oneness of God. It is also supported by stories from the life of the Prophet Muhammad (s), his companions, and other prophets mentioned in the Quran. It encompasses age appropriate songs, activities, interactive classes, and games. Some of the topics that are covered in this class are: 


  • God’s attributes and how each relates to us
  • The story of Ibrahim and Hajar 
  • Prophet Nuh and the Ark 
  • Contributions of black Muslim scholars: Mansa Musa
  • Contributions of Muslim women scholars: Nana Asma’u
  • The virtues of: Hope, honesty, love,  justice, equity, resilience, empathy, and more

Sunday 3:00 pm CST

Session Dates: Jan. 16th-March 6th

Cost: $125 

This class is designed for children born between the dates of 

Aug. 31, 2014-Sept. 1, 2015

*For the privacy and protection of all our students, classes are NOT recorded. Students must attend live sessions.

Instructor

Afshan Malik is a Chicago native turned southern belle who loves Dr. Pepper, long naps, and historical novels. She holds a Masters degree in Nonprofit Management and a Bachelors degree in English Language & Literature. Afshan serves as the Director of Development at Rabata and is the author of the 2019 young adult novel Pieces. Afshan currently lives in Houston with her husband and 5 children.
